After her acclaimed debut at the Tokyo Opera City in 2010 to the Carnegie Hall, New York in 2017, Aisa Ijiri has established herself as one of the award-winning pianists of her generation ; A special talent whose European sophistication, fierce passion and poetic sentiment create an artistic atmosphere (The Record Geijutsu).
Born in Japan, Aisa made her European debut at the age of 15 as a concerto soloist at the Philharmonic Hall, Warsaw and as a recitalist at the Konserthuset, Stockholm. Since then her performances have taken her to the U.S.A, the U.K, Korea, China and throughout Europe. She is a graduate of the Royal College of Music, Stockholm (Bachelor’s Degree), Guildhall School of Music & Drama (Master’s Degree) and the Royal College of Music, London (Artist Diploma). Aisa was awarded a “Prestigious Culture Award” by the Mayor of Shiga as a youngest ever winner. In 2018, she was appointed an Honorary Representative at the Royal College of Music, London.
Aisa has given regular piano solo recitals and chamber music concerts at many prestigious venues including Wigmore Hall (London), Cadogan Hall, St.John’s Smith Square, St.George’s Bristol, Fairfield Halls, St.Martin-in-the-Fields, Kioi Hall (Tokyo), Izumi Hall (Osaka), Kolarac Hall (Belgrade), Teatro Carlo Felice (Genoa) and the international festivals such as Wimbledon International Music Festival, Three Choirs Festival, Lichfield Festival, Chopin Festival in Duzniki-Zdroj (Poland) among others. Her concerts have been broadcast on Classic FM, BBC Television 1, BBC Radio 3, Radio Television of Serbia, Radio Beograd and CNN Worldwide.
Aisa has collaborated with many internationally revered conductors, such as Kentaro Kawase, Ken Hsieh with the Osaka Century Symphony Orchestra, Yasuo Shinozaki with the Orchestra Musica Celeste, Toby Purser with the Orion Orchestra, George Vass with the Bushey Symphony Orchestra, George Benjamin with the GSMD Orchestra and Udo Zwölfer with the Salonorchester Alt Wien. In September 2019, she will be performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.5 ‘Emperor’ with the Kansai Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Sachio Fujioka.
Aisa has released her debut album “Pilgrimage”, piano works by Schumann & Liszt (2011) and 2nd album “Ailes d’amour”, piano works by Prokofiev (2016) on N.A.T Records highly recommended by The Record Geijutsu, CD Journal (Japan) and Pianowereld (Holland). Her live performance of the piano works “SAKURA” and “PRELUDES” written for her by Llywelyn ap Myrddin were broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and released on WW Records. In 2016, Aisa was invited by Steinway & Sons to be a Recording Artist for ‘SPIRIO’, a high resolution player piano founded by Steinway & Sons. In 2018, a new piano piece “AISA – Sand, Silk & Love”, was written and dedicated to her by British Schott composer and author, Melanie Spanswick. Aisa gave the world premiere of this work at the Shiga Bank Piano Festival 2018 to critical acclaim.
As a passionate and dedicated ambassador for creative projects in art, film, fashion and lifestyle, Aisa has been featured in many beauty, music and lifestyle magazines and has appeared in videos and television broadcasts for CNN Style, Steinway Magazine, Lark Music Magazine, We Believe in Beauty, Wannabe, E-Polish and Opinion Leader (for International Women’s Day 2017). She plays a starring role on a new film ‘AISA’, directed by Marco della Fonte and presented by Lost Pictures Ltd.
Aisa is an official Steinway Artist, and the Artistic Director of the Tokyo International Piano Association (Japan) and the Montecatini Piano Festival (Italy).
